I see on the news tonight the trouble the va has keeping up with the influx of disabled vets

this group signed up because they were told they were keeping america safe from some imaginary enemy and were further told how much their sacrifice would mean and how they would be taken care of for their service

the va has even gone so far as refusing to retrain disabled veterans for marketable skills

see now when a politician lies about wmds he will also lie about keeping a promise

you war mongers should hang your heads in shame

You are right Case, war is stupid.  Just think how much better off we would be had we not fought the Revolutionary war.  We would have remained in the British Empire and made it so strong that neither WWI or WWII would have been fought.

War is pretty stupid.

For instance, the American Revolution - was unneccessary except for the fact that Britain wanted to keep those forests in the colonies as property of the Crown for use for ship-building rather than let the colonies become independent and then paying a fair price for those trees.

It was also unneccessary from the colonial side - the argument over taxes was raised by colonial businessmen who resented paying taxes toward the British war debts incurred during the French and Indian War which almost bankrupted Britain but protected the interests of those same businessmen.

Result: two stupid mindsets leading to a very bloody war when a compromise could have been reached.

"Now I am become Death. . .  '. . . the great destroyer of the worlds, and I have come here to destroy all people. . .  All the soldiers here on both sides will be slain.' " -- The Bhagavad-gita 11:32 & J.R. Oppenheimer

War is Death, the great destroyer, and it's destruction goes far beyond the battlefield.

The lucky dead stay on the battlefield, the walking dead leave it and come home to. . . what?

Unfortunately, there are unavoidable wars, wars that have a just cause and the unified will of the people behind them.

But war should only ever be a "necessity" of the last resort.

So. . .  didn't many people on the Left tell the military we didn't want these soldiers to go to the one Bush War in particular and express doubt about the other?

Didn't we try to get the young recruits to listen to us and reason and not those who lure young, healthy people to be injured or die in wars for the greed of the war-mongers?

I'm just glad I can have a good clear conscience that I was not one of the greedy, war-mongering seducers who sent them to die or be maimed.

You should be glad there are young men and women ready, willing and able to step up and protect your sorry ass!  You are suggesting that young recruits violate codes of conduct and refuse to go into battle?  DO YOU REALIZE THAT YOU EMBOLDEN THE ENEMY WITH SUCH COWARDICE?

Telling soldiers NOT to fight is an invitation for attack you stupid ass!

Or perhaps you're telling young people, don't volunteer to protect and serve this country...oh good, more emboldening of the enemy to attack...
and guess what dumbass, no volunteers means elitist leaders like the democrats will enact a draft, so your grandchildren can be FORCED to serve...I bet you'd like that, right?  Oh wait, you have no grandchildren...I forgot...it will be someone else's children and grandchildren protecting your sorry ass!

You should listen to yourself...
You certainly have gotten stupid in your old age!
